Shipping, Returns, & Warranty

Shipping, returns and warranty for custom and ready-made jewelry orders.

Shipping Policy

We take great care in preparing every order to ensure your jewelry arrives safely and beautifully. Please review the shipping details below before placing your order.

Free shipping on orders over CAD $1,000. All shipments are fully insured, require a signature on delivery, and include tracking details so you can plan for receipt.

Orders are typically processed within 2 business days. Once your parcel is with the carrier, delivery to most major urban centres takes 1 to 2 business days. Processing time is separate from transit time.

Please note: While we’ll always do our best to support you, we are not liable for delays caused by third-party carriers. If a delivery attempt is unsuccessful, the carrier may reroute the package to a nearby depot for redelivery or pickup. Many depots hold parcels for up to 5 business days before returning them to the sender. We provide tracking details with all our shipments to ensure you have necessary information to get your shipment as expected.

For U.S. orders, please contact us directly at info@atelierfineco.com or call +1 (604) 416-5438 to initiate your purchase or begin a custom project.

Free shipping on orders over USD $2,000. All shipments are fully insured, require a signature on delivery, and include tracking details.

Orders are typically processed within 2 to 3 business days. Transit times depend on the carrier and customs processing.

Please note: processing time is separate from shipping/transit time. Once your parcel is with the carrier, delivery timelines are dependent on the carrier and customs. While we’ll always do our best to support you, we are not liable for delays caused by third-party carriers or customs processing. Because customs assessments are made by border agencies, any duties/taxes/tariffs and carrier fees are outside of our control and are based on the declared value of your purchase (which we are required to include on shipping documents).

If a package is returned to us due to missed delivery/pickup, incorrect address details, or refusal to pay duties/fees, additional shipping costs (and any return-related carrier charges) may apply before reshipment.

Return & Refund Policy

We hope you absolutely love your piece. If something isn’t quite right, we’re here to help.

Ready-made pieces can be returned within 14 days of delivery. To be eligible, the item must be unworn and in its original condition- no signs of wear, dents, scratches, resizing marks, or damage of any kind.

Once we receive your return, we’ll inspect it before approving the refund.

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method. Original shipping fees are non-refundable.

If an item shows signs of wear or damage, we reserve the right to decline the return or deduct an amount from the refund.

If you’re returning an item from a Canadian address, you can ship it back to us directly. Contact us at info@atelierfine.co or call +1 (604) 416-5438 with details about the item you’re returning. Return shipping costs are the client’s responsibility. We strongly recommend tracked and insured shipping; we can’t be responsible for packages lost in transit.

If you’re returning an item from a U.S. address, any return shipping costs, brokerage fees, and any customs charges associated with the return are the client’s responsibility. Please note that if any of those fees are billed to us on your behalf, they will be deducted from your refund.

The following are final sale and not eligible for return, refund, or store credit:

  • Resized items
  • Custom projects
  • Special orders

Warranty Policy

We put a lot of care into how your jewelry is made and set. Atelier one-year warranty covers manufacturing defects, and the details below outline what we can repair at no charge versus what falls under normal wear, accidents, or loss.

Every piece comes with complimentary inspections and cleaning for the life of the piece. Bring it in once a year and we’ll check the prongs, tighten any stones that need it, and give it a professional clean. It takes less time than you’d think and keeps the piece performing the way it should.

The first year of service is on us, including a full clean, polish, and stone tightening if needed.

We offer a one-year warranty covering manufacturing defects- unintentional issues that result from an error during production. If a workmanship-related issue is confirmed, we will repair it at no charge.

This warranty does not cover loss of stones, accidental damage, or normal wear and tear.

For full peace of mind, we recommend insuring your piece independently. Jewelers Mutual and most home insurance providers offer jewelry riders that cover loss, theft, and accidental damage.

Most clients add it to their home insurance policy or use a jewelry-specific insurer. If your insurance company requires a formal third-party appraisal, we can facilitate that for you. The fee is $100 plus tax, and the process takes approximately one week. Note that turnaround times can run longer during busier periods (June-August and November-January).

We stand behind our setting work. If you notice a stone moving or something looks off, contact us. We’ll inspect it and advise. If the issue is workmanship-related, we’ll repair the setting or tighten the stone at no charge.

Fine jewelry is worn through daily life; settings can be affected by impacts, snagging, and normal wear over time. Lost centre stones are not covered under warranty.

This warranty does not cover damage caused by normal wear or external causes, including (but not limited to):

  • Loss of stones, including centre stones and accent stones
  • Chips, cracks, or other damage to gemstones
  • Normal prong wear, thinning, bending, snagging, or gradual setting loosening over time
  • Scratches, dents, misshaping, or surface wear from everyday use
  • Metal color changes over time, including rhodium plating wear on white gold
  • Damage caused by impact, dropping, catching, gym workouts, or other accidental events
  • Loss or theft

Any resizing, repair, alteration, or setting work performed by a third-party jeweler may void warranty coverage for the affected area. It also makes it harder to accurately assess the original workmanship. If your piece needs attention, come to us first.

Some designs are inherently more delicate by nature and are not eligible for warranty coverage due to higher wear risk, including:

  • Eternity rings
  • Single shared-prong settings
  • Explicitly delicate designs (including styles that prioritize ultra-fine proportions)

If you’re unsure whether your design falls into this category, we’re happy to advise before you place an order.
