A custom ring starts with you: your taste, your lifestyle, and how you will actually wear it. Those questions shape every decision that follows: the setting height, the prong style, the band width, and the metal it's cast in.

By the time it is finished, you know why every part of it looks the way it does.
Step 1: The Consultation
We start with a conversation in person at our Vancouver custom jewelry studio or online. We'll talk through your taste, your budget, your timeline, and anything you've been drawn to.
Step 2: Design and Modelling
Once we understand what you're after, we produce a detailed 3D CAD rendering. This is where the proportions get worked out, and the design starts to take real shape.
Step 3: Stone Selection
With decades of direct relationships in the diamond trade, we source stones specifically for your design. Every stone we present is one we have assessed in person, as a certificate doesn't tell you how a stone looks in natural light. You will be presented options, understand the tradeoffs, and make the final call.
Step 4: Production
Your jewelry is made in our Vancouver studio by us and our trusted goldsmiths. Every setting is built for your lifestyle, not just how it looks on day one.
Step 5: Delivery
Final inspection, packaging, and handover. Most custom pieces take 4 to 8 weeks from design approval. Solitaires and classic designs often come in closer to 2 to 3 weeks. If you are working toward a specific date, tell us upfront and we will tell you what is achievable.
What does it cost?
Custom engagement rings at Atelier in Vancouver start around $2,500 CAD. The final price depends on three factors: the stone, the metal, and the design complexity.
Stone selection may have the biggest impact on price. A 1ct lab-grown diamond and a 1ct natural diamond of the same cut and clarity can differ significantly in cost. We'll walk you through the options at every price point and tell you what's achievable within your budget.
Metal choice: 10k, 14k, 18k gold in white, yellow, or rose, or platinum, affects both the look and the cost. We'll recommend the right choice based on the design and how you wear jewelry.
Design complexity matters too. A clean solitaire costs less to produce than a pavé band with a halo. Neither is better; it depends on what you want.
We ask for a design deposit to begin the process. This is applied against the final cost of the piece.
